Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) is a national index of all Australian businesses. Searches can be performed by searching for the organization's name, by it's Australian Business Number (ABN), or by it's state and state number. The site offers help on performing searches for users who are not familiar with using the site.

The Australian Suppliers Database section of the site is a searchable directory of thousands of Australian companies, products and services published by the Australian government. Resources are available for both the Australian exporters and overseas buyers.

A reference used by the Australian Trade Commission, this site lists current day and upcoming events that take place in Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia Pacific. Information about the date, time, location and organizers are provided under each event description.  The events listed are searchable by keyword or industry.

The Australian Financial Review serves the business and financial community every Monday to Friday. Specialist surveys appear in over 90 issues of The Australian Financial Review every year. They offer an authoritative source of information on a wide ranging number of markets, industries and companies. A paid subscription is required to access most of the site.

Australia: Business Review Weekly

Business Review Weekly examines the trends and opportunities shaping Australian business. The site features news on a variety of business topics and also includes weekly lists and rankings. A subscription is required to access some features of the site.

Australia: Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR)

Established by the Australian Government, the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR)'s mission is to help and encourage Australia's agricultural scientists to use their skills for the benefit of developing countries and Australia. The site provides resources for researchers, such as the programs the ACIAR offers. Other resources include the various agriculture-related publications made by the ACIAR, including technical reports on pest and weed controls.

Australia: Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI)

The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) is a council of over 350,000 business representatives that strive to represent the interests of business nationally and internationally. The site includes publications, policy reviews, annual reports and surveys, dating as far as 1998. The reports available online cover diverse issues, such as the environment and employment. These reports are available in PDF.

Australianexporters.net is a fully searchable directory of Australian exporters listing each company’s main products as well as size, turnover, and contacts. This site also includes an exporting guide, as well as useful information on expanding export operations, market research, and trade agreements.

This article, produced by Michigan State University's Anti‐Counterfeiting and Product Protection Program, discusses the challenges of product counterfeiting and intellectual property rights issues in Australia.  Significant data point to a growing problem, but the article also provides ways to handle these issues.  Resource is in PDF format.

This site, hosted by the Australian Government, provides information and tutorials on thinking about starting a business, actually starting a business, and exiting a business. Comprehensive information is also provided about employing people, grants and assistance, importing and exporting, insurance, intellectual property, market research and statistics, taxation, and several other subjects. The information is geared towards applying this information in Australia, but much of it has general applications as well.
