April 2006 - James Epolito, President and CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), discusses the strengths of the Michigan economy.Mr. Epolito examines some of the advantages that Michigan has over other states, emphasizing the large number of high-tech workers and significant research and development (R&D) within the automotive industry.Michigan’s stability is also highlighted, as the state has a stable energy infrastructure in addition to being located on geographically stable land with an ample supply of fresh water.The MEDC promotes economic growth within Michigan by developing strategies and services that help to attract and retain Michigan jobs.
