Job Description

Sun Yat-Sen Business School (SYSBS), one of the top business schools in China, invites applications for Distinguished Professor in Management beginning Fall 2014. This position is also coupled with Management Department Chairmanship if the candidate suits.

THE UNIVERSITY: With its longstanding tradition in arts, sciences, business administration, medicine, and engineering, Sun Yat-Sen University is recognized as one of the nation’s top universities in China. SYSU is located in Guangzhou, China’s third largest city, neighboring Hong Kong and Macro. SYSU has at present a combined faculty of over 13,600, with 42 schools and 8 affiliated hospitals. Visitors have been drawn to the metropolitan glamour and excitement of Guangzhou for the diversity and richness of economic, cultural and social life found here.

THE SCHOOL: Established in 1985, SYSBS offers a broad range of business degree programs. SYSBS became the first business school to be instituted by an overseas foundation and one of the first schools to be engaged in business education in Mainland China. SYSBS has been internationally accredited by AMBA, EQUIS, and AACSB, and its various programs have been consistently ranked among the nation’s best. Its EMBA was ranked #11 (2012) and Master’s in Management #44 (2013) worldwide by FT. The School currently has 116 full-time faculty working in six departments and teaching nearly 2,000 undergraduate students and 2,500 graduate students (including over 200 doctoral students). JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications include an internationally recognized record of research in management (strategy, OBHR, IB and/or entrepreneurship), combined with high-quality teaching and service credentials. Candidates must hold a doctorate in management or a closely-related field, and should have a record appropriate for the rank of full professor or senior associate professor with tenure. Candidates with established strong record and international impact on China-related management and/or business research are preferred.
