Job Description

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, New York, seeks an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and strategic leader to be the next Dean of Saunders College of Business.

The dean will report directly to the provost and will be expected to assume office in January 2015 or as soon thereafter as feasible. Both traditional and non-traditional business candidates are encouraged to apply.

RIT, a private institution internationally recognized for academic excellence, is home to a diverse population of 18,500 students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. Always innovating in scholarship and programs, RIT offers some 90 undergraduate degrees, over 80 master’s programs, and seven PhD programs. Among the 15 largest private universities in the country, the university has an annual budget of approximately $600 million, employs 3,700 faculty and staff, and possesses an endowment of nearly $670 million.

Saunders College of Business boasts highly ranked bachelor’s and master’s programs for approximately 1,500 online, executive, and on-ground students in Rochester, as well as on its international campuses in Dubai and Croatia. There are 31 staff members and 49 full-time faculty. In addition to the college’s home facility, it is preparing to open a newly renovated Center for Urban Entrepreneurship in downtown Rochester. The operating budget of Saunders College is approximately $13.5 million and the college’s endowment is approximately $28 million.
