POSITION SUMMARY:

International Business (and the Global Business Specialization serving Marketing and the College) is housed in the Marketing Department. Candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in IB and marketing and work with doctoral students. Candidates will conduct research and publish in top tier international business (IB) and marketing journals and engage in service activities for the School, College, and University.

The Culverhouse College of Commerce at the University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position in IB and Marketing at the Assistant or Associate Professor (untenured) level effective August 16, 2015.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates should have an earned doctorate (or expect to complete their doctorate before August 16, 2015) in Marketing, International Business, or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Preferred candidates should have several years of academic experience. Preferred candidates should exhibit the capacity for research publishable in top-tier Marketing and IB journals, ability to work with doctoral students, excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and willingness to engage in appropriate service activities. Given the nature of IB within the Department and College, the ideal candidate will span Marketing and IB with research and teaching interests that are firmly rooted in both areas and their interface.

Marketing is the second largest major in the college. The Marketing Department has a large, dynamic, and productive faculty, a nationally prominent Ph.D. program, and recognized excellence in a number of specialized “verticals” including sales, services (and supply chain), and Global Business. Global Business serves the Department and College and boasts a recent major curriculum overhaul to bring the specialization in line with the needs of the global business community. Marketing is a highly collegial department where research collaborations flourish and are encouraged. Funding is available at both the college and department level to support ongoing research initiatives and the college boasts state of the art facilities to meet research and teaching needs.
