Job Description

The Kühne Logistics University (KLU), named after its founder and donor, Klaus-Michael Kühne, is a private, independent, international and state-recognized business school. With a strong emphasis on logistics and supply chain management research and education, KLU has a very young faculty which is being expanded by several new appointments every year with the intent to build up a strong international reputation in research and teaching. KLU is located in the new HafenCity area in the heart of Hamburg, one of Europe’s most vibrant cities.

KLU seeks to appoint – starting in September 2015 or later – a new faculty member in the field of strategy. We seek to fill a position at the level of: Associate or Full Professor Candidates should combine a strong research record and an understanding of relevant practical problems with inspiring teaching and a willingness to contribute to institution building. We are seeking experienced, talented and highly motivated professors with a proven record of internationally recognized research and industry collaboration. Experience in obtaining research funds from government, state funding institutions, and industry sources would be helpful. Depending on the experience and academic record of the applicant, the position may be filled at a full professor or tenure track associate professor level. Assistant Professor Candidates should have, or expect to complete a PhD by the time of the appointment in the designated field from a recognized and accredited university, be highly qualified for internationally competitive research, have gained some teaching experience, be prepared to participate in our campus life, and be interested in engaging in industry collaboration. The KLU will offer an internationally competitive salary, teaching load, annual research budget and administrative support.
