Barney School: The Barney School of Business made the Princeton Review’s 2014 list of top business schools.  The Barney School of Business enrolls over 1,000 students in six undergraduate majors and its MBA and Master of Science in Accounting and Taxation programs. The school has 40 full-time faculty members and is accredited by AACSB-International. The mission of the School is to create a student-focused learning environment that prepares men and women to become leaders and decision makers who are globally aware and socially responsible. Position in Management: The University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Strategic Management to start in August 2016. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a specialization in Business Strategy defined by research and publications. Preference will be given to specialties in Entrepreneurship and Global strategy.  There will also be opportunities to teach in our innovative, interdisciplinary All University Curriculum. 

Expertise and Qualifications: Ideal candidates have a doctoral degree in Strategic Management or related area, but ABD candidates with documentation of degree completion prior to June 2016 will be considered.  Candidates will be expected to demonstrate potential for superior teaching as well as evidence of scholarly activities. Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching.

Responsibilities:  Faculty members normally teach three courses per semester at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, both on-ground and on-line.  The Barney School offers both day and evening classes. In addition to teaching, faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activities; participate in Departmental, School, and University service; and develop partnerships within the local business community.
