Job Description

The Department of Marketing & Management invites applications for one or more positions as Assistant Professor in International Business and International Entrepreneurship. The positions are mainly located in Odense, but teaching may be required at the campuses in Slagelse and Sønderborg. The positions are vacant from January 1, 2017 and has a time limit of three years.

Research within the Department is anchored in an understanding of the cooperation between markets, organizations and individuals. It encompasses a variety of areas from evolutionary models of organization to new exotic forms of consumption. Research at the Department is organized in five research units.

Job description
The research area of International Business and International Entrepreneurship focuses specifically on the international business activities of small and medium-sized enterprises within the setting of an increasingly internationalized world. The research unit is engaged in two major research themes: International business and international entrepreneurship with special emphasis on international market relationships, entry modes, and performance, including the study of International New Ventures/Born Global Firms,also in regard to  emerging markets.  The goal of the research unit is to contribute to an improved understanding of the emergence and growth of firms in international markets, through the study of the organization of marketing and strategic activities both within the firm and through the interplay with other actors on the market.  

The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree within the mentioned research area and will be expected to deliver high quality teaching in international business, international market relationships, and/or international entrepreneurship, at Bachelor as well as Master of Science in economics and business administration, MSc. in International Business and Modern Languages, and MBA programs. We expect the successful applicant to actively engage in the development of research unit as well as contributing positively to the department as a whole. Also, we expect active and constructive participation in the university's academic administration.

Owing to the increasingly international focus of the degree programs, applicants must demonstrate ability to teach in English. If the successful applicant is not fluent in Danish, he or she will be expected to learn Danish within a period of approximately two years.

Appointment to the position requires a PhD or equivalent and will be in accordance with the salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.

Assessment of applications will be done under existing Appointment Order for universities.
Applications will be assessed by an assessment committee. The committee may request additional information, and if so, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the necessary material.

When the assessment committee has submitted its report, the applicant will receive the part of the evaluation that concerns him/her.

Applications that are incomplete with regard to the above requirements will not be assessed by the committee.
