Job Description

Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) The Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law invites applications for a W3 Professorship (Chair) for Global Governance at the School of Business and Economics to be filled by the earliest possible starting date.

The successful candidate is expected to represent the field adequately in teaching and research. The professorship is an interface between economics and social sciences and the applicant is expected to have a background in economics or social sciences. Interdisciplinary experience is desirable. The professor will be particularly involved in teaching the international Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes at the School of Business and Economics and must be willing to teach in English. The professor will also be expected to manage existing partnerships with universities in North America and the UK.

Applicants are expected to have focused on research in one or several of the following fields: world economic order, international trade and investment policy, international political economy, public policy, regional economic integration, international labour migration and international relations. Research excellence must be demonstrated in particular by publications in renowned international journals. An orientation towards quantitative research is particularly desirable. Close collaboration with the research focus areas at the School of Business and Economics at FAU is expected.

Prerequisites for the position are a university degree, university level teaching experience, a doctoral degree, and additional academic qualifications. These should be in the form of a Habilitation (post-doctoral thesis) or equivalent academic publications. The necessary qualifications may also have been acquired in a non-university context or through a junior faculty position (e.g. W1 Professor or Assistant Professor).
