Widener University's School of Business Administration (SBA), which is accredited by AACSB-International, invites applications for a tenure-track position in healthcare management at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in August 2017. Faculty in this position will teach in the CAHME-accredited Healthcare MBA program as well as the undergraduate business program that is accredited by AACSB.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach graduate courses in the areas of healthcare finance, health information systems, and health policy, and undergraduate courses in management.
  • Teach six courses per year, which may be in the face-to-face, online or hybrid formats.
  • Contribute to the school through teaching, research and service, including advising and supervision of administrative residencies/internships. Job Qualifications:
  • Have a doctoral degree in healthcare management from an AACSB accredited program by the date of appointment. ABD candidates will be considered with a planned completion date by August 2017.
  • Have a broad knowledge of healthcare management and the expertise to teach in the areas of healthcare finance, health information systems, health policy, and management.
  • Meet and maintain AACSB requirements for Scholarly Academic status, and demonstrate the potential to pursue a productive research agenda through academic and industry relationships.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and helping students develop a portfolio of competencies that lead to job and career success.
  • Experience in the health care industry is desirable but not required.
