What is Country Insights?

This section provides information on the history, culture, political structure, business news, economic landscape, and comprehensive statistical data of over 200 countries. Users can also compare statistical data for a number of countries, and view rankings relevant to a country's business climate. In addition, a rich collection of country/region-specific business-related links and corporation's links can be viewed for each country or region.

How and where do I find resources links?

To access resources for a region you must first select a particular region. Within the region's page, click the "resources" option from the left menu bar and it will direct you to the links for your specific region.

The "Introduction" page for each country displays a "quick links" box and links to selected sites that are specific to that country. The "quick links" box offers key links to external sites that would be most valuable when quickly researching a specific country. The selected sites below the "quick links" box are selected sites and/or resources that offer important business related news or information about that country. To view all of the country's resources including links from the "Global Resources" section that pertain to that country, you need to click on the "resources" option in the left menu.

How do I find information for a region?

To access the page for any region hover over "countries" in the top navigation menu, a drop down will appear with a list of regions. Clicking on one of these links will take you to the region's page.

How do I find a particular country's information?

The fastest way to get to a country's site is to select the country from the "countries" drop down menu where they are organized by region. You can then hover over a specific region and click on a country from the drop down list that appears. Alternatively, you can click on the "countries" tab from the top of any page within globalEDGE. From here you can either click a specific region then click a country, or you can click the "View All Countries" option to bypass the regions page.

How do I submit a resource?

We welcome suggestions for links to be added to our site. You may submit your suggested site through the "submit resources" option on the resource desk drop down menu that is accessed by hovering the mouse over the "resource desk" heading on the top navigation. Before submitting the resource please review our "Site-listing Criteria" to make sure the site meets our listing criteria.

What is quick links?

Quick links are a few key resources for that country that our team has deemed most important. Those are then placed on the introduction page of each country so they may be accessed in a hurry.

What is a country memo?

Country memos provide a concise summarization of key data and information for a particular country, clearly displayed on a standard letter size page. The memos can be downloaded as a PDF by clicking the "Download PDF" link at the top of the country memo. To view a country's memo either click "country memo" from the left navigation bar once within a particular country's page or select "country memos" from the "countries" drop down menu and select a country. Country memos are perfect for quick access to important business information.

What are tools and games?

globalEDGE tools and games that allow you to compare countries on a variety of statistical indicators, rank countries based on these indicators, and test your knowledge of international business knowledge and country capitals. A continuously updated currency converter is also available.
