2006 Bribe Payers Index - Transparency International

Transparency International (TI) is a non-governmental organization developed to combat corruption. This annual survey for the year 2006, The Bribe Payers Index, looks at the extent to which multinational companies from 30 leading exporting countries attempt to pay bribes to senior public officials in the surveyed emerging market countries. The report can be found in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish.

ASIA: Asian Corporate Governance Association

The Asian Corporate Governance Association (ACGA) is a not for profit membership organisation. It is committed to collaborating with investors and companies in enforcing corporate governance in Asia. Its membership is composed of 50 leading global and regional financial institutions, pension funds, fund managers etc. The website covers a wide range of topics in corporate governance by providing articles, reports, information on related events, and major corporate governance links in East and Southeast Asian countries.

European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI)

The ECGI is an international scientific non-profit association. Its main goal is to deliver impartial information on corporate governance and take any action to improve this issue to the highest standards. There is a lot of free, good information on this website, but for specific reports, membership is required.

Germany: German Corporate Governance Code

It's the official website of the Commission of German Corporate Governance Code. It provides the newest version of German Corporate Governance Code, and the news related to corporate governance topics in Germany. The website can be viewed in Engish, German, French, Spanish, and Italian.

Global Corporate Governance Forum (GCGF)

GCGF was created through a cooperation of World Bank Group and The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Its goal is to improve the standards of governance and assists developing countries in the transition on corporate governance. The main features are the program highlights, featuring corporate governance papers based on conferences and forums, and a section of toolkits for assistance in creating a corporate governance strategy.

Global Integrity generates, synthesizes, and disseminates credible, comprehensive and timely information on governance and corruption trends around the world. In addition to in-depth country reports, the site offers a proprietary index that assesses the performance of various countries over multiple indicators.

International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN )

ICGN was formally founded on March 29, 1995 by American, Australian and European investor Associations. The purpose of the ICGN is to exchange information on Corporate Governance issues, examine corporate governance principles and practices and promote corporate standards and guidelines. Documents and conferences on corporate governance can be found on this site.

John M. Olin Center for Law, Economics, and Business: Program on Corporate Governance

The Program on Corporate Governance is based at Harvard and is focused on facilitating research and scholarship on corporate governance. The website provides working papers, upcoming events and conferences, possible courses, and other online resources that pertain to corporate governance.

Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) - Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises

The Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises provide voluntary principles and standards for responsible business conduct addressed to multinational enterprises themselves. Specific guidelines targeted at Multinational Corporations outline principles and standards of behavior in areas such as: labor relations, environment, bribery, competition, taxation, science and technology. Includes specific advice on the implementation of standards and appropriate reporting procedures.

Site contains reports from 2000 to 2006.

World Bank: Governance and Anti-Corruption

World Bank governance and anti-corruption initiatives focus on organizational integrity, minimizing corruption in World Bank projects and assisting countries in improving governance. The site includes a calendar of events, information on governance programs, research, and publications. A wealth of compiled governance-related information can be found on the site's resource center. The site is also available in Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
