The 2014 Annual Report for the International Business Center (IBC) at Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business is now available! In 2014, the International Business Center was reaffirmed as a Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), which is a competitive, four-year grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The report highlights the International Business Center’s accomplishments in 2014 and provides an overview of the services and resources the IBC has to offer.
To date, MSU’s International Business Center has facilitated exporting and international trade for more than 12,000 U.S. companies. The center is committed to making businesses more competitive globally and providing cutting edge international business knowledge and data. IBC’s very own Michigan Export Growth Program has done exactly this by providing customized market research reports to over 150 small- and medium-sized businesses in Michigan. These reports equip businesses with the valuable information they need to export their goods and services to markets abroad.
The annual report also features the Academy of International Business (AIB). MSU’s International Business Center serves as the headquarters for this renowned international business academic association, and the annual report provides highlights from the 2014 annual meeting in Vancouver, Canada. The 2015 AIB annual meeting will take place in Bengaluru, India. Specific details for the event are available on AIB’s website.
MSU’s IBC is heavily involved in improving international business education at community colleges in the United States. In 2014, the center designed, launched, and planned a lineup of new programs designed for two-year college faculty. These workshops are an “On the Road” version of the biennial International Business Institute for Community College Faculty (IBI) that the IBC has hosted since 1995. These workshops were designed in collaboration with Community Colleges of International Development (CCID), a strategic partner of the IBC, and the locations for the 2015 workshops have already been announced.
