International Education Week, November 12-16, 2018 is an opportunity for universities, colleges, schools, international organizations, and businesses to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This is a joint initiative by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is aimed at promoting programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract international leaders to exchange abroad experiences.
Michigan State University is home to over 9,000 international students and scholars from over 140 countries. In addition, 2,889 MSU students studied abroad in the 2016-17 academic year. International students contribute to the academic and intercultural environment at MSU making it rich with global diversity. Moreover, students who travel abroad are transformed by their educational and internship experiences outside of the United States. Michigan State University takes pride in its diverse community and will be holding a series of events throughout the week to celebrate its international students and encourage students to study abroad.
