Qatar has said it is looking at spending $100 billion as it is currently trying to revamp its infrastructure in preparation for the 2022 World Cup. In response to the government of Qatar’s request, the United States government is sponsoring a trade mission to Qatar in June this year. The country has been growing rapidly and is looking to build multiple new stadiums to host the event. The growth potential in this country and for this trip is phenomenal.
The U.S. department of commerce has put out a very useful video detailing the mission, the advantages for American companies, and the potential in Qatar. Because it is a very small oil-rich nation, it has the funds to grow its economy and infrastructure at a terrific pace. The government is looking to give out roughly $100 billion in greenfield investment contracts to prepare the country for the large event. These projects range from building highways to creating multiple airports and digging one of the deepest ports in the world. American companies already have the largest market share of this market and are known for the high quality production and advanced technology, which is a large reason for Qatar’s government helping with the trade mission.
The actual trade mission will be in June of this year, and you can contact the U.S. Department of Commerce for more details. It will include high level networking with not only large local companies, but the government officials who will be deciding where and how the contracts are given away. Besides the regular networking events, matchmaking will be done to make the process even more efficient to pair the correct buyers and sellers together. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, don’t miss out on it!
