Job Description

The Department of Strategy & Organizations at EMLYON Business School invites applications for a full-time tenured-track position in Strategic Management (including International Strategy).

Based at the School’s Europe campus in Lyon, the successful candidate will demonstrate ability and potential for high quality research and teaching. All candidates should hold a Ph.D (or equivalent) or be nearing completion. Associate or Full Professor candidates must demonstrate a strong research publication track record and /or program (in highly regarded strategy journals such as those in the FT list), as well as good teaching abilities. Knowledge of French is not required, although it might be easier for everyday life outside of school. As courses at EMLYON Business School are taught in both English and French, we don't require foreigners to teach in French.

The successful candidate should expect to teach core courses in strategy, be comfortable to teach at all levels, perform service duties and would commence his/her engagement between January and September 2015. Salary and conditions are comparable with leading European business schools.

The Strategy & Organization department at EMLYON Business School consists of 28 full time faculty members with expertise in strategy, organization theory, and entrepreneurship. 25 Ph.D. students are engaged in EMLYON's Ph.D. program, which focuses on strategy, organization and entrepreneurship. Research by members of the Strategy & Organization department has been published in the Strategic Management Journal, Strategic Organization, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Organization Studies, Journal of International Business Studies, Management Science, Journal of Management Studies, Industrial and Corporate Change, American Journal of Sociology, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, etc.

Among the members of the Strategy and Organizations Department are Professors Jean-Luc Arrègle, David Courpasson, Alain Fayolle, Bernard Forgues, Pierre-Yves Gomez, Zied Guedri, Joseph LiPuma, Ignasi Martí-Lanuza, Pablo Martin de Holan, Philippe Monin, Philippe Riot (Chair of the Department), Eero Vaara (part time), Ulrich Wassmer, and Filippo Wezel (part time).
