The University is located in a metropolitan area that is among the fastest growing, most affordable and most entrepreneurial cities in America. Home to a diverse base of corporate centers, high-tech firms and prominent non-profits (comprising over 60% of the employment base), Kansas City is an inspiring example of 21st century economic transformation, with UMKC sitting at its heart. The local corporate community and city residents strongly identify with UMKC. UMKC’s Henry W. Bloch School of Management provides innovative, globally oriented, market-driven and experience-based business, management and public administration education to almost 2,000 students. It claims a global network of over 17,000 alumni.

The Dean is responsible for providing academic, strategic and administrative leadership for the School, for articulating a vision for management education, and for enhancing the strong relationships that exist between the Bloch School, its alumni and the business, non-profit and government sectors. The Dean serves as a senior academic leader of the University, reports to the Provost, and will work collaboratively with fellow Deans.

The Dean is expected to have:

The successful candidate will have a record of leadership experiences that provide the foundation for success in an academic setting.
