Job Description

This position is a full-time (nine-month) tenured/tenure-track appointment as Associate/Assistant Professor in the Department of Global Leadership and Management, the College of Business Administration at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL).  The primary purpose of this position is to conduct research and to teach graduate and undergraduate courses. This position requires a commitment to working with diverse student and community populations. With nearly 15,000 students, UMSL is the largest public research university in eastern Missouri. It serves a diverse student body whose influence on the region upon graduation is immense.

Essential tasks that must be performed:

  • Conduct independent research in strategic management or international management and publish research articles in peer-reviewed journals
  • Teach graduate and undergraduate courses
  • Provide professional and community service

This position requires the holder to have a Ph.D. in Management (or a related area) or be close to completion, and a commitment to teaching and research excellence.  The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary, benefits, and research support.  The teaching load for this position is a minimum of four classes per year (2/2 load) as determined by the department chair.  The holder of this position will be expected to perform these duties in a professional manner and to abide by the Collected Rules and Regulations of the University of Missouri System.  The holder of this position reports directly to Dr. Joseph Rottman (Global Leadership and Management Department Chair), who reviews tenure track faculty annually in the areas of research, teaching and service to provide constructive feedback on their progress.
