Burkina Faso: History

The Kingdoms, which are now making up Burkina Faso, become a French protectorate.

Upper Volta, present day Burkina Faso, becomes a separate constituent within the French Community.

Upper Volta becomes independent.

Upper Volta is renamed Burkina Faso.
