Description

Dr. Munoz is discussing with a major academic publisher to edit a book titled “Geopolitics of Technology: Concepts and Cases." Gathering academics, scholars, and thought leaders from around the world to provide their perspectives on the geopolitics of technology.

This book project is very relevant to the AIB community for the following reasons:

  • it will take on a global theme
  • it underscores the importance of technology in today’s global business environment
  • it promotes the collaboration of scholars across countries
  • it provides an opportunity for scholars and researchers to showcase their work to a global audience
  • it helps advance the understanding of the challenges and opportunities relating to the geopolitics of technology

The convergence of geopolitics and technology is reshaping organizations and impacting economies worldwide. Drawing from contributors from different countries, the book aims to be a key resource on the geopolitics of technology. The intended audience will be academics, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, government leaders, consultants and policy makers worldwide.

Potential chapter topics are shown below:                        

Introduction

  • Understanding the Geopolitics of Technology - The introduction chapter will define the term geopolitics of technology and will discuss key factors affecting it. It will highlight the contemporary geopolitical and technology landscape and will feature statistics and research literature. Overview of the current challenges and opportunities will be discussed. The book structure and content will be presented.

Asia-Pacific

  • Technology Geopolitics: China - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in the country and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered. 
  • Technology Geopolitics: India - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in the country and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.
  • Technology Geopolitics: Australia and New Zealand - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in the country and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.
  • Technology Geopolitics: Japan - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in the country and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.

North America

  • Technology Geopolitics: USA - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in the country and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.
  • Technology Geopolitics: Canada - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in the country and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.

Europe

  • Technology Geopolitics: UK - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in the country and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.
  • Technology Geopolitics: Germany - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in the country and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.
  • Technology Geopolitics: Russia - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary geopolitics of technology in the country and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.
  • Technology Geopolitics: France - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in the country and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.

Latin America

  • Technology Geopolitics: Latin America or a country in Latin America - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in Latin America or a country in Latin America and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.

Middle East and Africa

  • Technology Geopolitics: Middle East or a country in the Middle East - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in the Middle East or a country in the Middle East and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.
  • Technology Geopolitics: Africa or a country in Africa - The chapter will shed light on the contemporary technology geopolitics in Africa or a country in Africa and its implications. Research will be discussed along with relevant examples. Key considerations and recommendations will be offered.

Conclusion

  • Geopolitics of Technology: Implications and Future Considerations - The chapter will highlight key considerations and the future implications relating to the practice of geopolitics of technology. 

Proposals on topics outside of the above list will be accepted. The list of countries mentioned above are just suggestions. There are several other countries not mentioned above that play a large and important role in the geopolitics of technology. Also, there are many other factors, angles and issues relating to technology geopolitics that need to be explored and considered in its practice. New ideas are welcome. The book structure may change depending on the accepted chapter contributions. A review team will assist in determining the best structure and chapter contributions for the book. 

Chapter contributors will have over a year to complete their chapters. Final chapter due date will be May 15, 2026.
