San Marino: Introduction
San Marino is a landlocked country located in Southern Europe. It is an enclave of Italy, with Italy being the only bordering country. Situated on the Apennine Mountains, the terrain consists of rugged mountains. The government system is a republic; the chiefs of state and heads of government are the captains regent. San Marino has a mixed economic system in which there is a variety of private freedom, combined with centralized economic planning and government regulation.
