Monte Ahuja Endowed Chair in Global Business
Department: To be determined based on applicant’s primary discipline.
Position: Endowed Chair in Global Business, tenure-track; full-time; appointment is for 5 years and is renewable based on performance.
Start Date: August 2012

Duties: Work with junior faculty in pursuing excellence in research and scholarship in the area of Global Business. Work with doctoral students to develop research skills in global business. Manage all the programmatic activities related to the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program in Global Business, including curriculum review, assurance of learning, and meeting AACSB accreditation standards. Teach courses in Global Business as appropriate. Work with the Dean to advance Monte Ahuja College’s and university’s mission in global business programming initiatives across departments/ disciplines. Foster partnership with the business community to develop international business education and executive training opportunities. Take leadership in building international reputation and visibility of the Monte Ahuja College and university by participating in national/ international professional organizations relevant to global business. Set priorities and sustain an environment of academic excellence in global business through research seminars, workshops, and interdisciplinary initiatives university wide. Provide assistance to the business community on current global business and economic issues. Enhance the effectiveness and prominence of global business programs, research activities, and outreach programs. Develop close ties with other business schools in the region to promote global business programs and economic competitiveness of the region.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in business administration or allied field from an AACSB or equivalent accredited college; 10 or more years of academic experience in teaching and conducting research in global business and allied disciplines at the undergraduate and graduate levels; and evidence of effective teaching and mentoring of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students. Preferred Qualifications: A distinguished record of applied, academic scholarship in global business that has led to a portfolio of national and international publications in the global business field, including recent publications in the most highly-ranked journals in the field; evidence of intellectual leadership in mentoring faculty colleagues as well as graduate students in research and scholarship; administrative experience in managing doctoral programs; and evidence of active engagement with the business and academic professional communities.

College: The Monte Ahuja College of Business has over 75 full-time faculty members. The College’s programs are accredited at both the graduate and undergraduate levels by AACSB International. Enrollment in the College exceeds 3,000 students. Degrees offered by the College include the BBA, BSCIS, MBA, DBA, MCIS, Master of Accountancy, and the Master of Labor Relations and Human Resources.

University: Cleveland State University enrolls approximately 17,500 students. It is located within walking distance of the Cleveland downtown business and entertainment centers and has strong ties with the business and public sectors in Northeast Ohio.
