In the 2008 RAE Essex Business School was ranked 2nd in the Accounting and Finance Unit of Assessment and 90% of the research output submitted was graded as international quality. To further develop our current teaching and research activities, we are seeking to make an additional appointment in the field of International Business Strategy in our Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Global Strategy Group at our Southend Campus.

The purpose of this post specifically is to enhance the School’s research profile in the field of international business and business economics; to teach undergraduate and postgraduate international business and supervise research students; to extend the School’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally through activities such as publishing in top peer-reviewed international business and presenting papers at prestigious conferences. We welcome applications from candidates with quantitative specialism in any area of international business and business economics.

For Lecturer level appointments applicants should have a good first degree in International Business or Economics or other quantitative specialism related to the area of the post, evidence of research output, either published or publishable, of peer-reviewed international quality and experience of teaching, or demonstrable potential for achieving this.

For appointments at Reader/Senior Lecturer level, experience of leading in the development of new teaching programmes in international business together with a strong record of high quality research publications and a proven track record of raising research funds is essential. Salary in the range: £37,382-£53,233 per annum
