Idaho State University (ISU) is a comprehensive, Carnegie-classified doctoral research high and teaching institution. Founded in 1901, ISU has matured into an exciting, vibrant, and growing research institution with dynamic research faculty, the largest number of graduate students in the state, and $36 million in new research activity per year. ISU educates approximately 15,000 students per year in more than 280 programs and has a statewide mission for education in the health professions. Founded in 1963, the College of Business (COB) is fully accredited by AACSB International and has a 50 year tradition of providing superior business education with graduates placed in the workforce of national, regional, and local companies. The COB offers Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degrees in seven majors: (accounting, computer information systems, health care information systems management, finance, management, general business, and marketing). Graduate programs leading to the Master of Business Administration, Master of Accounting, and a unique PharmD/MBA are also offered. In Spring 2013, COB enrolled 867 undergraduate and 167 graduate and post baccalaureate students. The COB has 27 tenured/tenure track faculty.

The Dean is the chief executive and intellectual leader of the COB, shaping its vision, generating resources in support of its mission, developing innovative programs that will distinguish the College of Business, leading significant and productive growth of the faculty, maintaining vital ties to the business community, and overseeing operations. He/she will lead the College of Business at a critical time when ISU is expanding its role and visibility in the state and the College is creating new programs, recruiting and supporting faculty, advancing research and scholarship, building a new national Business Advisory Board, and increasing philanthropic support. The ideal candidate will be an innovative and visionary leader with high integrity who will work collegially with University leadership, the COB faculty and staff, and within a shared governance structure to develop, articulate and achieve the strategic goals of the College of Business and the University. The successful candidate will have significant senior level experience and demonstrated achievements in academic administration and/or a strong record in executive positions in business. ISU’s main campus is located in Pocatello, a community of approximately 60,000 nestled in a scenic mountain valley in southeastern Idaho. Described as the "last undiscovered mountain college town in the west," Pocatello is within a few hours' drive of Salt Lake City, Sun Valley, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, and numerous world-class skiing, fishing, rafting, climbing, and mountain biking opportunities.
