Two Faculty Members at the Full or Associate Professor Levels Global Studies
Qualifications for these faculty positions include: a strong publication record; experience mentoring graduate students; and a proven record of generating external grant and contract money. All candidates should hold a Ph.D., or the terminal degree in their field.
The McCormack Graduate School of Policy Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks to hire two faculty members at the full or associate professor levels in Global Studies to begin in September 2010. We will also consider applicants who are at the advanced assistant professor level. A major responsibility includes taking a leadership role in the development of the University's Human Security and Globalization graduate education programs. The University currently has three graduate programs in the global studies arena: International Relations, International Management, and Dispute Resolution. The University is making a major commitment to the expansion of global studies programs and these new faculty positions present an exciting opportunity to work with the resident faculty, staff, and administration to build on our current strengths and to develop new programs. Faculty will also teach in these graduate programs, generate and conduct research, as well as mentor graduate students. The positions are open with respect to applicant's disciplines; however, persons with backgrounds in social and behavioral sciences, business and management, law, and public health are encouraged to apply. Areas of scholarship in the field of Human Security and Globalization are open and may include transnational studies, conflict resolution and peace studies, global society (including culture, gender, and civil society), environment, development (all areas), human rights, humanitarian operations, and entrepreneurship studies. Regional specialization is also open.
