OB DUTIES: The Ross Pendergraft Professor of International Business will work with constituents throughout UA Fort Smith to assist in the achievement of the university-wide learning outcome of developing global and cultural perspectives in students. The College of Business is exploring the possibility of offering a BBA in International Business, and this individual would be tasked with assuming a leading role in the development of potential curricula and additional programs. The successful applicant is expected to demonstrate the ability to produce high quality research in the area of international business and to display excellent instructional skills. Teaching is the first priority throughout UA Fort Smith, and this position carries an instructional workload of teaching 3 three-hour lower-and upper-division courses (9 credit hours) each semester. In summary, the holder of this named professorship will possess superior credentials in her/his field; hold expertise in curriculum development, teaching, and learning; be held in high esteem by peers and colleagues; and be capable of leading and implementing change.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in International Business or a related field from an accredited university, plus relevant teaching and/or business experience, as well as evidence of successful outcomes in working with a wide range of stakeholders, including collaborative relationships with faculty colleagues. A commitment to excellence and a record of strength in teaching, particularly in application-oriented teaching, is also required. Experience developing learning goals and objectives, designing curricula, and executing assessment activities is highly desirable. Background must be appropriate for rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.
SALARY & BENEFITS: Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additionally, the position holder's salary will be supplemented by a generous stipend from the Ross Pendergraft Professor of International Business Endowment along with a personal-use fund available for travel, research, and other forms of support.
