The Department of Management in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech is seeking applicants to fill a tenure track faculty position in International Business at a rank to be determined depending upon the qualifications of the candidate.

Candidates should have a doctorate in Management or related field (or be in the final stages of completing such a doctorate) with a specialization in international business from an AACSB accredited school , a strong program of scholarly research consistent with the rank applied for, and instructional capabilities at the undergraduate, MBA and doctoral levels. In addition to a demonstrated commitment to excellence in research and teaching in international business, the preferred candidate would have a strong secondary research and teaching interest in strategy, OB, ethics, HRM, OT, entrepreneurship, leadership, or some other related management field.

The Department of Management consists of 18 full-time faculty members with an impressive range of research and teaching expertise in macro- and micro- areas of management. We encourage intellectual discussions that cut across traditional research areas and both expect and support our faculty to actively engage in high quality research that is publishable in top outlets.

The on-campus enrollment at the Pamplin College of Business is about 4,200 undergraduates and 250 full-time graduate students. Pamplin's undergraduate program is ranked in the nation's 50 best business schools by U.S. News & World Report. Pamplin ranks 43rd overall, which puts it in the top 10 percent of the 500-plus U.S. undergraduate programs accredited by the AASCB and 24th among the public institutions). Pamplin's MBA program is ranked in the top 60 by U.S News and World Report. Pamplin is also moving aggressively into new MBA initiatives including an Executive MBA program (located in its Falls Church campus in close proximity to Washington D.C.) as well as the Professional MBA program (co-located in Richmond and Roanoke VA).

The position will be in Blacksburg which is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Appalachian Trail, making its beauty and temperate climate attractive to many. Blacksburg also has high quality primary and secondary schools (K-12) as well as a relatively low cost of living.
