The Centre for International Business and Innovation (CIBI) invites applications for the post of Reader (i.e. Associate Professor level) in International Business OR Innovation – Entrepreneurship.

CIBI, part of the Business School’s Department of Management, is a highly successful center with externally recognized expertise in international business, international political economy, innovation, entrepreneurship and related areas (e.g. institutional analysis, economic development, employment relations in MNCs). CIBI has a vibrant research culture and a strong record of international level research and of externally funded international collaborative research projects. CIBI has been commended in both, the 2008 and 2014 UK’s research assessment rounds (RAE2008 and REF2014) for its high-level research outputs and its international collaborations.

CIBI has an extensive international research network of global reach within academia and research-user communities. The Center enjoys strong links to government departments, regional development authorities, business associations and international organizations. A key feature of research in CIBI is its relevance for the research user-communities, by informing management practices and public policy-making at international, national regional and local level.

The post provides an exciting opportunity to make significant contributions to the strategic development of research activities in the Center and to lead on the further development of established CIBI research areas and on development of new research areas in CIBI towards externally recognized areas of expertise. You will undertake research and enterprise activities, including publishing research in high-level internationally recognized journals, generate research income, engage in impact activities with practitioners and policy-makers.

The ideal candidate should have a PhD in an area relevant to the post, a significant international quality publication profile (at quality grade 3 or above as defined by the UK’s REF 2014), experience in income generation, in supervision of PhD students to successful completion and in disseminating research findings to various stakeholders and audiences. You should also have substantial teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Salary Range: £ 47.801 – £ 55.389 per annum
