University of Puget Sound Tacoma, WA Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing Open Until Filled Appointment Status Full-time, tenure-line position: begins Fall Term 2011
Department School of Business and Leadership Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in marketing, primarily introductory marketing as well as elective courses in areas such as marketing communications, marketing management/strategy, consumer behavior or international marketing. Case analysis and projects that stimulate independent critical thinking and promote effective written and oral communication skills and problem solving should be an important component of these classes. Standard teaching assignment is three courses per semester. Other duties include continuation of professional development, advising students, and participation in departmental and university governance.
Qualifications: Ph.D. (ABD considered) in marketing and a commitment to undergraduate teaching and liberal arts education. Will consider Ph.D. in appropriate liberal arts disciplines related to marketing. For those candidates whose doctoral degrees are in non-business disciplines, relevant work experience in the area of marketing and the possession of a Master in Business Administration degree will be strongly preferred. Ability to research/teach marketing with an international focus or in other disciplines within the School of Business & Leadership is highly desirable.
