Assistant/Associate Professor of Strategy, Tenure Track Position School of Economics & Business Administration Saint Mary’s College anticipates an opening of a full-time tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor of Strategy position, beginning fall 2011, pending on budgetary approval.

Thus, we are particularly interested in faculty candidates whose research and teaching interests investigate business strategy and its interactions with society and environment (sustainable business; triple bottom lines) or examine strategy questions in an international context with an explicit focus on Asia business issues.
Responsibilities:
The new faculty member will be able to teach required and elective strategy courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching assignments at Saint Mary’s College of California include courses at off-site locations in San Francisco, Silicon Valley and San Ramon. Research responsibilities include developing an active research program on cutting-edge business strategy issues and their relationships with society, environment or Asia business. In addition to teaching and research, all faculty members have responsibilities for advising students and serving on committees and are expected to contribute to the mission of the College, which is informed, animated and expressed through its Catholic, Lasallian and Liberal Arts traditions.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in strategic management or a closely related field, before commencing his or her academic appointment. Candidates must demonstrate a track record or potential for teaching excellence, scholarly research and publication in the field; ability to teach, advise and mentor a culturally and educationally diverse student body; appreciation of and deep respect for the learning/teaching environment and for the students, staff, and faculty who comprise it and the willingness to become a stakeholder in the Lasallian commitment to that environment; demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse and multicultural community.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary is competitive with other non-profit higher education institutions and commensurate with qualifications, experience, budget and internal equity considerations. Rank and placement will be determined by demonstrated evidence of teaching, research, and scholarship.
