The Department of International Business and Marketing at The California State Polytechnic University invites applicants for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor. Start date is Fall 2011. The Department seeks a strong teacher scholar at any point in his/her respective careers with an expertise in some area of international business, professional sales/sales management and/or entertainment marketing.

This is a permanent tenure track appointment. The Department anticipates conducting multiple tenure track searches in subsequent years as it transitions to a fully mature community of teacher scholars within a fully accredited college.

Desired Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or DBA in International Business or Marketing preferred, admission to doctoral candidacy (ABD) required.
  • Terminal degree required from AACSB accredited institution and/or Carnegie Research I University.
  • Evidence of superior teaching in some field of international business or marketing.
  • Evidence of, or potential for, publication in peer reviewed journals in one's field.
  • Industry experience preferred in at least one area of U.S. or international business.

About the Department of International Business and Marketing (IBM)
The IBM Department has almost twenty full-time faculty members and more than 1,200 majors, some 800 of whom focus on one of nine career tracks in marketing and more than 400 of whom specialize in some area of international business. Almost all members of the Department hold Ph.D. degrees from AACSB accredited institutions from across the United States. IBM is one of six departments in the CPP College of Business Administration, which serves almost 5,000 students. The College is accredited at both the undergraduate and graduate levels by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. A new three building state of the art complex to house the College is under construction with occupancy due within eighteen months.
