Tenure-track Faculty Position in International Business
Korea University Business School (KUBS) (http://biz.korea.ac.kr/en) is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in International Business at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Candidates should be willing and able to teach the undergraduate international business core course. The primary responsibility of tenure-track faculty is to conduct high-quality research and teach international business courses in the undergraduate, MBA, and/or Ph.D. programs. The appointment could start as early as September 1, 2017.
JOB QUALIFICATION: An earned Ph.D. in International Business or a related field with strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching is required. For a junior faculty with less than 5 years of experience since earning the doctoral degree, at least one top-tier journal publication is required. For a faculty with more than or equal to 5 years of experience since earning the doctoral degree, multiple top-tier journal publications are required. ABDs can be considered, provided that the degree will be earned by the appointment date and the candidate meets the publication requirement for a junior faculty candidate.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The appointee is expected to publish in top-tier IB or related journals (our list of top-tier journals is close, yet not identical, to that compiled by UTD (http://jindal.utdallas.edu/the-utd-top-100-business-school-research-rankings/list-of-journals). The teaching responsibility is six credit hours (two courses) each semester. The courses in our program include all areas in international business. All courses are to be taught in English.
ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY: Korea University is located in the vibrant and increasingly globalizing city of Seoul, the capital of South Korea. KUBS, accredited by both AACSB and EQUIS and is a member of CEMS, is the oldest and largest business school in Korea at the moment, with about 86 full-time faculty members. Recently, it has been repeatedly ranked as the country’s No. 1 business school. KUBS has approximately 2,500 undergraduate students, 650 MBA students, 200 students in MS programs, and 100 Ph.D. students in various majors such as International Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, MIS, and Logistics Services and Operation Management (LSOM).
ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AREA: The International Business Area has currently 11 full-time faculty members (the largest in Korea) and is planning to expand. The current faculty members represent various fields in international business, such as international strategy, international marketing, international finance, international trade, international HRM, cross-cultural management, international innovation management, and business in China.
SALARY AND RESEARCH SUPPORT: Competitive salary level depending on qualifications and experience. Support for housing and education expenses is available for foreign faculty.
