As part of the executive branch of Costa Rica, the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Commerce, also known as Ministerio de Economia, Industria y Comercio (MEIC), is responsible for developing regulatory economic and social policies to protect consumers and encouraging competitiveness in the market. The MEIC site contains information about the ministry, its procedures and services, and public consultation. The site also provides data and the results of studies performed by the MEIC.
