France declares Guinea a separate colony from Senegal.

Guinea becomes part of the French West African Federation.

The World Health Organization declares a public health emergency in Guinea after the spread of Ebola in the country. Additionally, the World Bank warns off the potential economic devastation from the outbreak that could occur in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
