Overview: North America
North America includes some of the world’s largest economies and countries. The United States is the world leader in Gross Domestic Product and fourth in total area. Canada is the second largest country in the world, consisting of more than 9.9 million square kilometers. Mexico is one of the ten largest economies and is home to Mexico City, boasting more than 18 million residents.
Some of the best natural wonders are located in North America. The world’s largest freshwater lake, Lake Superior sits on the United States - Canada border. Another special feature is the Great Salt Lake in Utah, which is saltier than the ocean. Mexico offers some of the most beautiful beaches on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Attractions such as these have placed the United States, Canada, and Mexico in the top 10 tourist destinations in the world.
