The market size for tourism has been making a comeback over the last few years since the pandemic, regaining their sector amount from $0.8 trillion in 2020 back up to $2 trillion in 2024. Travel and tourism will take over 11.4% of the economy by 2034, leading to a $16 trillion contribution. But now the question is, what makes this industry appealing for travelers to visit various countries?

The surge in technological advances is apparent to the company, with the operation requiring few people for the service.
Regarding sustainability, with many people becoming more eco-friendly and aware, hotels are implementing different methods to follow it. In Maldives, Soneva uses sustainable fabrics for all the furniture in the rooms and the materials used during the construction of the hotels as they prioritize sustainable luxury for their hotels. As they put in details for every aspect of their hospitality, Soneva has built a strong reputation for travelers who want to stay at one of their properties.
With all the changes in the market, China is beginning to strategically shift its presence on how it will expand for travelers that come in. The country has generated a 78% increase in international flights to China, bringing 280 million tourists, with more to come by the end of 2024. That said, China plans to upgrade its tourism provinces from transportation to technological advancements in various areas so tourists can have a smooth experience going in and out of the desired attractions.
Overall, as the traveling industry continues to improve, companies and countries will keep developing new methods to further enhance what they have to offer for travelers. We will have to stay updated with what will happen soon for the industry as it constantly changes.
