One of the most significant events in the flower industry is the annual International Flower Expo in Tokyo (IFEX).

Who is going to be there?

IFEX is an internationally known event and therefore there are representatives from different countries all over the world. For example, at the last expo there were exhibits from Bangladesh, Belgium, China, Colombia, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka. Typically these representatives are flower and garden business professionals such as florists and wholesalers as well as importers and exporters.

What to expect?

The event grows with each expo as its popularity increases. Therefore, you could see about 1,000 exhibitors from 30 different countries.

Moreover, you can find some of the world's best quality flowers, plants, and other greenery products. The exhibitions include everything from flower seeds to agricultural technology. It is an excellent opportunity to compare different innovative products.

Why participate?

Exhibiting in such a large expo is a great opportunity to promote your business. Also, Japan is becoming one of the main markets for exports of flowers - in 2008 the import value of cut flowers to Japan was approximately USD 323 million. Furthermore, it opens the door for networking with professionals from different countries and it also allows you to explore foreign markets and compare your product to that of competitors in Japan. Lastly, the expo is a great way to expand your business as it is a perfect venue to meet distributors in Japan.

Next year's IFEX show is scheduled for Oct 13th-15th, 2011.
